Aashni's First Birthday Sneak Peek

Aashni has turned the big one year old and we celebrated with pictures and a cake smash! She was originally supposed to come in last fall but then was sick off and on so we finally connected to do photos last week. Her session ended up being a beautiful mix of fall pumpkins for her actual birthday and a winter wonderland for the cake - a perfect combination just for her!

Aashni was very shy at first and wanted mom close by, so we used that opportunity to capture several great photos of the two of them together. She gave the best sneak smiles for mom, and it’s so nice to get to add those into a gallery when us moms are usually the ones behind the camera. Plus we captured several great pics of the whole family which earned the best grins from Aashni!

It took her a bit to warm up to me with some snacks and blocks, but Aashni came around and even sat in my white curved chair. She got to explore my little cup with beads, eat more cheerios, and sit with the pumpkin scene.

Then we ended with her blue and white winter ONEderland themed cake smash, and Aashni was a big fan of the icing. She was a dainty eater, with one finger in the cake at a time. Then she’d enjoy all the frosting before going back for more - a girl after my own heart!

I so enjoyed the extra time with this sweet girl and am glad we could make such a special photo session a reality to celebrate this big milestone!
