Katelyn's Colorado Senior Sneak Peek

I had a blast photographing Katelyn’s senior pictures earlier this weekend. It felt like a true girl’s night as her mom and sister were there along with their close family friends who I also did senior pictures for earlier. Her family and friends worked hard to make her laugh and fix hair, and I enjoyed every minute of our time together.

Katelyn and her family actually were in town from Wyoming visiting, and they’d seen several images on my senior gallery they loved and wanted to do. They loved the water location and the idea of Katelyn standing more in the water toward the end, and we had a beautiful evening for her to start her session with the water feature. We also captured some very special images of her and her good friend, Kayla, who describes them more as cousins. Both their moms were best friends growing up and graduated high school together, and now they got to watch their own daughters take senior pictures. Katelyn also wanted to try photos near the water around the Boat House, and the reflections from the sky and the smoky sunset were quite stunning.

We ended our session with beautiful mountain views, but the view was a bit hazy this time from the wildfire smoke. Despite the haze, the smoke created a beautiful red sun and sunset where we photographed special images for Katelyn with her point shoes. She and her mom had several ideas for images and they all turned out beautifully against the fading sun.

A big congrats on your senior year and thank you for trusting me with these special memories. What an honor to work with your two families and I wish the girls all the best next year!
