Rylan's First Birthday Sneak Peek

Rylan had a wonderful first birthday session, and I loved getting to see how much she’s grown since her newborn photos a year ago. She had the best faces and couldn’t quite figure out if I was to be trusted, but she truly rocked her session, didn’t cry, and absolutely crushed the eating cake part.

Rylan had an adorable little jumper for her first outfit and her mom opted for a simple wooden background that coordinated. She loved pulling the bead necklaces out of my cup and then wanted to keep them in every photo afterwards.

We tried a few chairs and I had to be quick or she would crawl off, but we got some great photos of her expressions. Then we did several pictures with her parents and, of course, she saved her biggest and only smiles for when she was being held by mom.

Then we changed up our set and I got to bring out a brand new background with white balloons and flowers tucked around the balloon wall. Rylan had a sweet little sweater with sprinkles on it which perfectly coordinated with the sprinkles on her confetti cake.

The cake was perfect and Rylan went right at it! She took chunks of icing, cake, and sprinkles with both hands. She took the cake eating business very seriously and it was so fun to watch her devour her birthday cake. We only ended because she finally filled up and wanted to crawl away again, but it was such a great time watching her and being part of this fun celebration.
