Julia's Maternity Sneak Peek
We had a beautiful winter afternoon for Julia’s outdoor maternity session. There was still a touch of snow on the ground from our previous large snowstorm, and yet the water feature was still flowing and it wasn’t too cold in the shade. We captured lots of gorgeous pictures of her and her husband to celebrate their first little one who will join them around Christmas this year.
Our first location was the water feature near a small lake. I had wondered if the water would still be running after our latest snow dump, but the area was still quite lovely and the water was still on, creating a peaceful winter scene.
Julia had a beautiful magenta knit dress and boots for her first outfit, and we got photos of just her and her baby bump plus some of the happy couple together. They humored me with climbing over rocks and then standing near different snow piles as it was fun to add that little touch of winter to the images.
Then we drove over to catch the sunset at our second and final location. This area is always lovely year-round and we were able to get pine trees in a few pictures plus there was a surprise area where a few trees were still hanging onto their fall colors. It was a perfect match with Julia’s orange sweater for her casual outfit and it was so exciting to find such beautiful leaves.
We had a true winter sky for our sunset that evening, but it was a perfect backdrop to celebrate the family’s maternity session with a few photos of them together with the Rocky Mountains behind them. I can’t wait to see them again next month after the birth of their baby - not long now!
