Emery's Newborn Sneak Peek

My studio has seen so many girls in the past few weeks, and this weekend I got to snuggle with another precious one. Meet Emery, who was just over a week old when she came in for newborn pictures. She was at the perfect age when jaundice was gone and she had beautiful newborn skin. I always tell parents I edit for newborn issues like dry skin, red spots, etc, but truly Miss Emery needed very little editing. (Always a dream for a newborn photographer!)

Her mom and dad wanted pink, purple, flowers, and basically all things girly for Emery’s session theme. My daughter was in heaven helping me select items as pink and purple are her favorite colors. I loved combining the two colors and doing more of a “floral” theme as I got to bring out several flower hats in various colors, my flower garlands, and interchange the colors with various props.

Emery took one break to eat in the middle and then slowly went back to sleep, which meant we still finished within our time frame PLUS I got some extra baby snuggles. She was even relaxed enough at the end to do the froggie pose. This pose requires a little extra work as I take several images and create a composite in the computer to get that final photo. That way baby’s head is always properly supported and their airway is safe from resting on their hands. It can be tricky to get this pose with some babies, so I’m happy I was able to deliver it for these parents!
