Quinn's First Birthday & Cake Smash Session

It’s hard to believe that Miss Quinn was last here when she was only a few days old! She’s now about to celebrate her first birthday, and I’m so excited that I got to be part of capturing new photos of her plus her cake smash. Her parents did a Minnie Mouse theme in pink, and Quinn was just adorable with her Minnie stuffy and cake.

We started with some nice portraits of Quinn and even got some with her big koala bear. During her newborn session, Quinn was inside that silver bucket which sat next to the koala. Now she’s sitting up next to both items and was adorable in her Minnie Mouse dress with tutu skirt. She even warmed up to me and let me hold her for a brief moment which was quite special.

Right before we got everything ready for her Minnie Mouse cake smash, Quinn showed me she was standing so we snagged a few quick photos of her holding onto my curved bench while standing up. Then it was time for the cake! My goodness did that strawberry cake smell amazing! Quinn wasn’t so sure about what all the fuss was about, and didn’t care to try her cake until we snuck in some yogurt treats. I love watching the range of reactions to cake from different babies! There is never a dull moment and it’s fun to see what they do for that first taste of sugar. Eventually Quinn figured out it wasn’t all bad, and had fun with it. I hope that means by the time her big birthday party rolls around she’ll be ready for actually eating the cake!
