Annika's Newborn Sneak Peek

Another precious newborn girl was in the studio this weekend! Sweet Annika made her photography debut and her mom had lots of gorgeous requests for her little girl. She wanted lots of girly pinks and purples, and she sent me several photos of props she wanted to incorporate. I’m so glad we were able to work in all the props as I typically do a few less set ups, but Annika was a trooper and her gallery is just beautiful.

Annika was a great sleeper for the first part of her session, then we took a little break for her to eat and settle again. Babies are always in charge during my newborn sessions, so I’m sure to get them to mom when needed so they don’t overheat or get too worked up as they are moved into different positions and poses. Then I got to rock her to sleep a bit, which is always a secret joy to hold a tiny baby for a short while. Annika eventually got back to sleep, and as a bonus her mom got some images of her with eyes open on my fur that she’ll get to see in her online gallery. The last big request was the froggie pose, which I photographed at the end of the session. I always spot the babies for this pose and create a composite of images so the baby’s neck is never compromised while balancing on their little hands.

It sounds from all the wonderful stories I heard that Annika is a true miracle baby and I’m so honored to be part of her story. She is a sweet, happy and healthy little angel and I wish her family the biggest congratulations! Thanks for letting me preserve these memories.
