Jameson Fresh 48

I had the honor of photographing a brand new baby boy just 26 hours new. Meet Jameson and his sweet family who became a family of three earlier this week. Jameson had just had his first bath when I arrived and he was fast asleep and swaddled in his hospital blankets. His parents also had a special little sign ready to go with his birth stats - what a great idea! He did a fantastic job for his first photo session, letting everyone get a chance to hold him, and even puckering up his lips for a quick picture. At the end he opened his eyes briefly and calmly gazed around at his surroundings.

This was my second time at University Hospital in Aurora and I love how their bassinets are clear all the way around for a beautiful photo of the baby inside. There is pure magic in the simplicity of a Fresh 48 session. You are only in the hospital for such a short period of time that you can easily forget the details in the rush of having a new baby. It’s a joy to capture all those memories like hospital blankets, bracelets, and the baby in the bassinet. And then it’s even more special to see the families again just a week later for their studio newborn session.
