Xander's First Birthday Sneak Peek

It was so wonderful to see this family again as they celebrated Xander’s very first birthday! It’s hard to believe I photographed both of these kids as newborns and now Xander is a whole year old, walking and laughing and playing with his sister.

Xander’s mom wanted backgrounds and colors to coordinate with the photos we did for his newborn session. Then we had greens and blues, so we kept the classic wood look to go with a few of his newborn pictures but then added some blue balloons and special birthday details.

Xander was quick! I think all of the adults got in a small workout getting Xander to stay in one area for just a few moments. He was curious about the room and props and wanted to explore. But we did find that he was highly food motivated when it came to puffs snacks.

I also took a few sibling photos of Xander and his big sister and she was a huge helper in giving him soft hugs. She even sat with him in the big white chair and was such a good sport at keeping her brother seated long enough for a photo.

We ended with a fun splash bath and the flying things background with airplanes, helicopters, hot air balloons, and kites. Xander enjoyed sorting the rubber ducks and bath toys, and he started to really have fun and laugh as he found he could splash. It was a great way to end his birthday session!
