Hailemelekot Family Sneak Peek

I’ve so loved getting to see this family over the years as their daughter, Skylah, has grown into such a sweet girl. I can’t believe she was celebrating her first birthday when we first met and now here we are years later still getting to capture special portraits and this time with mom and dad.

The family opted for a studio session so we didn’t have to worry about weather, so I had a few large simple backgrounds for the family to coordinate with outfits and then one special background mainly for Skylah. I love this honey bee background in particular as it’s just so classic and fun and her red dress really popped in front of it.

We had fun letting Skylah play with a small tea set, although she decided to serve lemonade and not tea. Both parents got to get a special cup of her lemonade as well as a few hugs from their daughter.

She also got a chance to play with some blocks where her creativity shown through while we got some great smiles. Basically if given the chance to play and be a kid, she was perfectly herself, which is what I love to photography.

The family also gathered for a few full portrait of everyone all together in both a formal and casual outfit and Skylah’s personality really came through after she changed into her “speedy tennis shoes”. Overall it was a great session with all of them and I loved getting to capture such special memories of their family.
