The last time I saw this sweet baby boy and his family, Ezana was only about a week old. It was so wonderful to see them again and how much he’s grown in the past year and to capture these special first birthday memories with the Wild One theme.

One of my favorite things is when I hear from past families about capturing first birthday’s of their little ones. Ezana was truly a sweet little guy, and he did his best with all the new things around him, the big light, and me, the new person.

He had an adorable custom outfit for his nice photos and I love how it went with the jungle background for his wild one theme. His sweet older cousin was also a little star, and she was always willing to jump into a picture and truly had fun with the props. In fact by the time we were done, she was telling me how she wanted to pose and sit!

Ezana had a little rough patch in there as all the new thing were overwhelming for him. But we still were able to capture great family portraits in two different outfits and some sweet photos with mom and dad separately.

And while he had an amazing cake complete with macarons and a cupcake, he didn’t much care to sit alone. So the whole family got in on the action to help him out and the good news was there was plenty of cake to take home and enjoy.

The best part of the whole experience, though, was ending with the splash bath. I still have never met a kid who didn’t like the little tub! Every kid loves to splash and knows what to do in water, and even for those kids who weren’t cake fans, the bath always brings out smiles. Ezana was no exception, and I’m so glad we got some truly awesome toothy grins from him at the end!
