Schatz Family Sneak Peek

After several reschedules due to freezing temps or snow, I was so happy to finally get to meet this family for their first outdoor photo session. We joked that even this particular evening the wind was crazy, but we had an otherwise perfect night with warmer weather and a gorgeous sunset to capture these special memories of them with their son.

We went to one of my tried and true locations for younger kids as it has so many great options and photo spots near each other that it’s easy to go from one to the next. Plus it’s still beautiful this time of year with the pine trees and sunset views.

Their son, Maverick, did such a great job hunting for pinecones and special sticks in the area and I loved capturing those candid moments with his parents. He was true to his age and one busy little guy, but I so enjoy letting him take the lead a bit to see what he wanted to do with a little guidance.

We got some great moments with mom and Maverick examining leaves or walking to new photo spots, plus a mid-session snack always helps. Maverick got to walk around, explore, and then show his parent what he found and we even snagged a quick smile or two for some great full-family pictures.

The sunset was a perfect way to end our time together as I know an hour is a long photo session with little kids. But Maverick was a trooper with the wind and timing, and we ended on a great high note with family snuggles and a smile.
