Jamie's First Birthday Camping Cake Smash

This next sneak peek is for a dear friend of mine, and I’m so excited to share his rustic camping, first birthday photos with his family! It’s crazy to think that due to Covid I’ve never been able to meet Jamie in person, and the last time I saw his parents was for a quick maternity session before the world shut down. Jamie sure has grown into an adorable little chunk with a big personality to match!

We started off with photos of Jamie next to a very important buffalo, which has been photographed with him each month during his first year. He also loved sorting my pinecones into various buckets and bowls, and of course playing with the lanterns.

Funny enough, Jamie said he much preferred photos alone with all the goodies around him, but we did get a few of him with his parents and a big family picture all together. I especially loved the photos of him in the big wash bin with the ONE wooden letters. His expressions were priceless!

Finally we ended with a cake smash to celebrate his very first birthday, and Jamie was undecided about whether this was enjoyable or just weird. He ate some, smashed some, tried to shake it off his hands, and in the end he ultimately chose to play with the lantern again instead.

Still, it was a wonderful celebration for this special family and I’m so excited I got to meet him in person and be part of preserving these memories. Happy birthday, Jamie!
