Grover's Buffalo Plaid and Pancake Cake Smash

You’d never guess this adorable little guy had to come in twice to give me smiles during his first birthday session and cake smash! He was just plain too tired and everything was just too new the first time around, but I’m SO glad his family came back on a better day because these pictures should put a smile on your face.

Once Grover had a birthday nap, he returned to the studio ready for pictures. He enjoyed studying the little black lantern with lights inside, and even put some pinecones in the red pick up truck. We tried to encourage putting some yogurt melts in the truck but he decided the pine cone was way better.

Then we switched over to his adorable pancake cake for him to smash. While he much preferred his mom spoon feeding the cake to him (so he didn’t get messy) he did eat a few bites and try a few small handfuls of cake on his own.

But he once again much preferred to play with putting the pinecone in the red truck over and over, then showing the pinecone to the wall like “ta da! I did it!” Basically, he was just so stinking cute and I’m beyond glad the family came back for these special memories. I think I smiled the entire time selecting and editing this sneak peek, and I hope it does the same for you.
