Mack's Rustic 1st Birthday Cake Smash

Mack came in a few days ago to celebrate his very first birthday! We got a few photos with him and big sister in snuggly pajamas, then he started to warm up to the whole process as we got everything ready for his rustic cake smash setting. Mom asked for barn woods and buffalo plaid, and I love the props she brought to add to his set. Combined with a few items I had plus extra pine cones, Mack had an adorable rustic wooden setting for him to try cake for the first time.

I know his parents really wanted him to put his face in the cake, but Mack took his time with the new experience. He did eat it, and I believe he even liked it, but just wanted to take it all at his own pace. I think it was still adorable and I love how his cute little belly gradually got cake on it.

We ended with a mini splash in my sweet vintage bathtub just his size. Mack again took a minute to warm up to the idea, but once he discovered he was allowed to splash, he was all in! What a fun ending to a cake smash session for this little guy!
