2017 Best of the Year Contest Winners

Happy Valentine's Day! What a perfect day to spread some love and announce the winners of the 2017 Best of the Year Contest. 

You completely blew me away with the number of "likes", shares, and survey votes. In fact you forced me to upgrade my survey package with Survey Monkey just so I could see all the results. This year had a whopping 237 voters on the survey alone and 113 Facebook likes via the official contest album. I had fun watching everything come in and reading all the wonderful comments on the blog. I so hope that even if you didn't win I'll get to see you and your beautiful families again this year for updated portraits.

Here is the official breakdown via the online survey.  Check out Photos 17 & 19 getting a combined 54% of the votes. Then Photos 3, 5, and 20 all got about 10% each of the remaining votes. Great job sharing the survey!

Finally I am so honored to have been part of each of these contestant's stories last year to preserve some very special memories. I can honestly say I love my job and the opportunity to follow my dream and take photos for others, so a huge thank you to all my clients this past year for allowing me into your lives. Sending love to all of you on this Valentine's Day!

I truly went through every Facebook like on the contest album, every survey vote via the blog, and tallied up the totals for each of the 20 contestants. Here are our winners:

First Place:

Don't be deceived by the Facebook likes on this one. They were one of the main reasons I reached my survey limit. This couple must have truly utilized all their friends and family!

This family wins a 16x20 gallery wrapped canvas of the winning image (valued at $240). Way to go!

Second Place:

This family crushed it on Facebook with sharing the contest album of this little cutie. This family will receive an 11x14 gallery wrapped canvas of this second place image (valued at $195).

Our two voter winners:

For these, I entered all voter names (yes, all names!) in a spreadsheet and assigned a random number to each name. For those who commented on the blog, liked on Facebook, and followed me on Instagram, their names were on the list 1-3 times so they had more than one random number assigned. It took a while as there were so many of you who voted - good thing the Olympics were on in the background!

The lucky random number winners are: Jessica Maas (voted photo 3) and Laura Kelley (voted photo 18) Congrats to both of you! You have each won a $100 digital photo credit to be used towards a future photo session in 2018. Get in touch and we'll get you scheduled for a wonderful session this year!
