It was such a beautiful evening for Britta and Conner’s maternity session to celebrate this special time before the arrival of their first baby. We had warm summer weather and gorgeous golden light for our two locations near the water and then with the mountains at sunset.

We started off at the little lake and water over the boulders that makes such a great summer backdrop for portraits. Britta had sent me a vision board via Pinterest and had mentioned they wanted lots of couple pictures, so both of them got in the frame frequently as we walked around the area.

Britta even braved a rock among the water and I love the casual vibe from her wardrobe and the obvious ease between her and Connor. I was smiling just culling the images for this peek as there were so many of them just enjoying each others company as they smiled at each other.

After a quick drive to the second location, Britta kept that same outfit for a few more photos as the casual attire really matched the feel of our surroundings. The light was my absolute favorite as it filtered through the trees, and while the mountains were a bit hidden in cloud cover, the glow of the sun was perfection.

The couple was so great to humor me as we walked to various spots and then down the hill a ways near the windmill and tall grasses. Once I learned she was from Oklahoma we most certainly needed a windmill pic! Those final photos are some of my favorites as the lighting and summer grass was perfect before the sun went behind the mountains.

I can’t wait to see this couple again in a few short months, next time as a family of three! Enjoy this little peek of the happy couple’s session!
