Hard to believe it’s been almost a year since I last saw Beau and his family! He is now almost one year old, and his mom had the cutest theme for his first birthday session and cake smash. She requested a black, white, and gold “bow tie” theme for her Beau, and I love how it turned out!

Beau had a perfect black suspender set with matching bow tie which matched the new background completely! He also loved the one balloon I had blow up and waiting for him, so all of his nice photos were also with the balloon until we traded it for a few puff snacks.

We were also able to capture some great sibling pictures with his older sister, who was such a trooper to hold her brother and sit with him while he still wanted to just play with the balloon.

Then we switched over to the cake, and we weren’t sure quite how he’d take to it as this would be his first time trying cake and sugar. He loved the frosting and dumped the cake over to continue to eat icing off the side of the cake.

His sister wanted in on the action, too, so we let her hope in to get her share of cake. She even tried to give her brother a bite of the actual cake (not just frosting) and he said nope, just frosting for me! It was a great time had by all and ended when Beau figured out he could crawl off with fistfuls of cake.
