I had such a blast with this sweet girl and her mom to celebrate Mabel’s first birthday in style with photos and a cake smash! Mabel loved getting a cake all to herself and had absolutely no problem finding the best ways to eat as much cake as possible.

I have gotten to know this family over the past few years starting with her mom’s pregnancy. We’ve since done newborn photos and 6 month milestone pictures. To now capture these first birthday memories is such a joy especially as I get to see Mabel’s personality shining through.

Her mom picked the flower garden background to start and Mable had a purple tulle dress with butterfly wings on the back for her nice photos. It took her a little bit of time to warm up but she liked playing with the flowers and her floral crown, which she proudly put on all by herself. She also loved the little gold butterfly accents and moved them around from chairs to props.

Then we changed over to her cake smash background which was a pink and gold theme with butterflies. Mabel had an adorable little pair of purple butterfly wings to wear with a ruffled diaper cover. She was like a little purple butterfly against the pink and gold backdrop.

To say Mabel loved her cake is an understatement! She went to town on the chocolate covered strawberry on top, the proceeded to each bites of cake and frosting. She had us both laughing with how seriously she took her dessert and we ended with big belly laughs from her over the toppled remains of her cake.

It was such a fun morning and I wish this sweet girl a very happy first birthday! May more cake be in your future!
