Zara's Newborn Sneak Peek

After a week of big babies, Zara was truly tiny at just a little over 5 pounds. And she was oh so precious during her big newborn photo session, with her delicate little fingers and tiny toes. She was a great model, allowing us to capture so many beautiful images in different props with colors in dusty and classic pink.

Zara’s grandmother had purchased a gift certificate for the session to surprise the family, and it was so fun to finally meet everyone at last, now including little Zara. The parents had originally opted to not be in photos themselves, but about half way through changed their minds and I was so glad they did! Parent pictures are some of my favorites as those newborns are only so tiny for so long and I love to have them snuggled in with mom and dad.

I pulled lots of extra props just in case, and Zara was a such a great sleeper we were able to get portraits on both the moon and the twig bed. Then she loved being on her tummy whether tucked in a bucket or on the bean bag, so I was able to move her little hands and swap out headbands easily as we moved through our time.

We ended with several poses on the beanbag, and Zara started to open her eyes and gaze around at the light toward the very end. So we quickly did a few on her back curled in some fabric wraps and then our time was up! She was ready for mom again for food and snuggles.

A huge congrats to this family on your new little angel! I so enjoyed meeting you all and capturing such precious memories.
