Sweet Duncan was back in the studio and had a fabulous first birthday session! There were balloons, lights, and, of course, cake - what more could a boy need to celebrate!

Last time I saw Duncan he was just 6 months old and was newly sitting and still needed a little pillow for support. Now he’s fully mobile and even showed off his cruising skills for a quick minute while standing. It’s always such a joy to see how much these little ones grow and change in between milestone sessions.

We had balloons for his simple and festive setting and he loved holding them and waving them around, plus was curious about the letters with lights spelling ONE. He was careful with sharing his smiles but we did get a few sneaky ones in there with mom behind my back making silly faces.

Duncan also approved of the cake smash and especially the frosting. He only went at it in small finger bites at first with just one hand, but soon had both hands dirty and really had fun eating something so special without anyone interfering.

All around it was a wonderful birthday session to celebrate Duncan’s first birthday! I hope he has a fabulous party with family and gets to eat more cake!
