Jackson was a little shy and a little serious during his big first birthday photo session, but he sure was cute. He especially was content when I pulled out the puffs and he would do anything or sit anywhere for one of those snacks, so we were able to capture his cute little personality during both his nice photos and cake smash.

We started with one of my favorite backgrounds for boys, which has a wooden wall with balloons in blue and white across the top and bottom. Jackson’s parents also brought in some balloons we could add along the floor, and we had fun with Jackson sitting with the props and gold letters spelling out ONE.

Jackson was champ sitting in my giant metal bucket, and even balanced in the white curved toddler chair just long enough for me to snag a photo. Plus as long as the puffs kept coming, he didn’t mind where he sat!

We changed up the background to still coordinate with the blue, white, and gold colors for his cake smash, but mom had wanted a simple style with the white background as the template. She had a simple banner that was the perfect touch with the helium balloons, and Jackson looked adorable in his bow tie and jeans for his cake.

He wasn’t a huge fan, and again must preferred those puffs to cake or frosting, but he was a trooper. He explored his wooden ONE sign on top of the cake, examined icing on his fingers, and did give it a solid try. In the end, he was just done with cake and photos and was ready for snuggles with mom and dad.

I wish you a very happy first birthday, Jackson! And I hope when the next cake comes around you find out just how good it can be.
