Bella and Winter seem to be two peas in a pod and best friends in the making. Their parents are good friends out in Vail, Colorado, and they wanted to do a special birthday photo session for the two year olds together to celebration their big birthdays coming up this month.

Bella and Winter arrived in a very typical two year old fashion - one was sad and one was unsure of the new situation. I truly work with kids all the time who go through these same things and it honestly doesn’t bother me in the least. Plus as a mom of 5 I feel like I must have build up some vibe on how to just roll with it and capture the personalities at this age.

Bella needed mom or dad at the beginning, but she warmed up to things and played with some beads and eventually my wooden blocks. Those got Winter’s attention and we had a quick time of the two girls building blocks together. We tended to roll with their feelings, capturing one girl then giving her a break while I photographed the other. Plus those big puffy dresses where adorable no matter what!

We also snagged some great photos with both mom and dad and a family portrait for each couple. We even got some great genuine smiles out of Winter when it came time for picture with Dad - Yay!

Finally, the girls changed into matching white lace dresses and we again let them sit and build with the blocks together and have a small snack. Bella gave some sweet concentrating faces and we got a few more smiles from Winter, so I’d say it was an overall success!
