It’s hard to believe the last time I saw this family was when Skylah was celebrating her first birthday with a cake smash. Now she’s whole 3 years old, and was full of personality, sass, and the perfect amount of snuggles for photos with her parents.

We’d originally arranged for photos around Skylah’s third birthday, but ended up having to reschedule to January. So while we missed her actual birthday for the session, we were able to pull out some fun backgrounds for a Valentine theme and that still fit with her outfits.

Skylah was the first to try out the new boho rainbow background and she was adorable playing with the white pearl necklaces and sorting and organizing them. She mainly wanted to put them in the pink lanterns instead of wear them, but she gave great smiles while chatting about various things in-between play.

We also were able to capture some great portraits with both her mom and dad separately, and a great family photo of everyone together. It was fun to watch her interact with both parents and she gave great smiles and snuggles for their important family pic.

We ended with a Valentine background and Skylah changed to a pink dress. She was a trooper getting those final pictures and we were even able to snag a special portrait with her parents wearing a traditional Ethiopian shirt. All and all it was a joy to see the family again and how much this little girl has grown!
