Hermie's Winter Maternity Session at Hudson Gardens
I don’t know what you were doing during the first half of the Super Bowl this weekend, but I spent my time with this lovely couple at the Hudson Gardens for Hermie’s maternity photo session. It was a chilly evening with some crazy wind gusts, but it was also very peaceful and we had the most gorgeous winter sky to light our photos.
While the intention wasn’t to miss part of the big football game, scheduling just worked out that way, yet it also allowed us to have the gardens almost completely to ourselves. Hermie had two beautiful dresses for her maternity photos, and we started in the rose garden area with the trellis and classic lamposts.
Her husband was a trooper carrying various wardrobe accessories and dresses, and even holding my reflector at times. We got lots of great portraits of the couple together as they prepare to welcome their new baby girl in the coming month.
Hermie had a beautiful pink gown for the second half of our photos, and it was stunning against the red barn backdrop and framed in the white doorways. We then walked over to the beautiful bridge and the bare trees provided a gorgeous background for the couple. Despite being winter, I think the gardens are breathtaking and when you pair that with a beautiful winter sunset, it’s pure magic.
So while we may have missed most of the first half of the big game, I think we left Hudson Gardens as winners with the amazing photos and memories we captured. I can’t wait to see the couple again soon when they welcome their little one!
