I can’t believe it’s been a whole year since I last saw Miss Isla and her family. She is just as cute and full of spunk, plus some of the best sassy looks I’ve seen. Her mom wanted to keep it sweet and simple for Isla’s one year baby milestone session, and I loved the simple whites, flowers, and the gorgeous floral hoops she bought to incorporate into the session. Plus Isla was adorable in her little overalls before and during her cake smash.

Isla was one of the happiest babies I’ve ever seen smash a cake. She was downright gleeful and shirked in delight while she squeezed the cake in her hands and knocked off tiers of carrot cake to the ground. She was bursting with excitement at being allowed to fully destroy the cake however she choose. And then to top it off, she dove in face first to see if that was more productive! I think she tried a few actual bites, but she had a fabulous time just playing in cake and making a mess. She had us all laughing during the entire time and I had a blast photographing the entire event.

A very happy first birthday to you, Isla! I’m so glad I got to be part of these special memories and I wish you more fabulous cake on your actual day.
